the Pyxis - Classic Deacon Stole
the Pyxis - Classic Deacon Stole
The Pyxis stole is named for the Constellation Pyxis, Latin for a mariner’s compass. Is there a better tool to have along on a journey than a compass? A compass helps to center you on your path while also showing you the direction you are headed. The imagery of the Advent star coupled with those of a compass feel like a meaningful pairing in this beautiful stole.
The Pyxis is crafted with rich Deep Purple Dupioni Silk. The intricate stars at the stole ends are composed of seven shades of Dupioni Silks that are hand-cut, placed, and embroidered in gold thread.
Other color options for the base material of the Pyxis include:
Deep Blue Dupioni Silk
True White Dupioni Silk
Pale Gold Dupioni Silk
The Classic Deacon Stole is a beautifully cut stole that is 3” wide at the top and has ends that taper slightly to 4” wide. It sits smoothly on the shoulder and conforms easily to any shoulder size.
(Kindly note: I do not have a Pyxis Deacon stole to show at this point. This design would translate very directly to a Deacon stole design, however, so I hope the photos will give you an idea of how it would look.)
