Meticulous Craftsmanship

Our stoles are pieces of quality art -- the work that goes into them is detailed and precise. Each stole is at minimum 60% hand stitched, and utilizes a construction design that is functional and beautiful.

The stole construction is based on a method created and taught by Elizabeth Morgan called the Set-Back Stole Construction Method. Her method creates a stole that is essentially a fabric envelope around the free-floating interfacing. This means that as the fabrics shift over time (as they always will) there will be no puckers or seam pulls, as the outside and inside portions of the stole are distinct. It creates a high-quality stole that will not twist, pucker, or warp over time.

Natural Fibers

We strive to use natural fibers as often as possible. To that end, our stoles are fully lined with 100% cotton interfacing, and then constructed with 100% Dupioni Silks, Linens, and Kona Cottons. A few of our designs utilize synthetic laces, but we make every effort to use natural fibers as often as possible.

Made To Order

We offer multiple customization options:
- stole length

- choice between two styles of stole cut
- color options for the reverse-side lining material

The end result is a beautiful stole truly made just for you!

The Tailored Stole was started in 2018 by Andrea Farley. Andrea was transfixed by clergy stoles after she and her family began attending an Episcopal church. When their family adventures took them through the Episcopal Seminary in Austin, TX, Andrea was further inspired by the brilliant leaders there, the many services in the seminary chapel, and the astounding beauty of the grounds. Her background as a pastor and children's pastor have equipped Andrea to create moving stoles that are firmly based in a biblical story framework. Andrea received and accepted a full-time ministry call in August 2019 and now creates stoles by appointment only.
