Forest of Junipers - Classic Deacon Stole
Forest of Junipers - Classic Deacon Stole
This stole is named for Brother Juniper, one of the original followers of St. Francis of Assisi. Juniper was known for his outrageous generosity — at times being reprimanded for disrobing to give his clothes to people on the street. St. Francis was known to say: “Would to God, my brothers, that I had a whole forest of such Junipers.”
The Forest of Junipers is made from Monk’s Cloth, a beautiful woven cotton cloth. It is finished with simple white crosses on each stole end and embroidered with metallic thread in either gold or copper.
This stole captures the beauty and depth to be found in simplicity — much like the common Juniper tree or a life lived in generosity.
The Classic Deacon Stole is a beautifully cut stole that is 3” wide at the top and has ends that taper slightly to 4” wide. It sits smoothly on the shoulder and conforms easily to any shoulder size.
