the Orione - Byzantine Deacon Stole
the Orione - Byzantine Deacon Stole
Named for St. Luigi Orione, the patron saint of the homeless and poor. The Orione is made with an intricate printed cotton in forest green and cream. This stole can be made with either the cream cross shapes as centered on the stole (as shown) or with the forest green shapes centered. This beautiful stole and its incredible namesake remind us of the need to root our everyday lives in caring for the vulnerable.
The Byzantine Deacon Stole is a gorgeous stole that is also extremely comfortable to wear. It is constructed with a 3.5” wide cross-body loop with an attached tapered stole segment that extends down both the front and back of the body. This stole is essentially two stoles joined together, therefore it is more expensive than the Classic Deacon Stoles. That being said, it is a fantastic value for this stunning stole.
(Kindly note: I do not have a physical Orione Byzantine Deacon Stole to show yet, but please refer to the drawing to see what the design would look like. This is a re-imagined design based on the Priest Stole version of the same design.)
