Augustine of the Woods - Byzantine Deacon Stole
Augustine of the Woods - Byzantine Deacon Stole
This stole is a version of the Augustine stole from the Patron Saints Collection. It is named for St. Augustine of Hippo, patron saint of brewers and theologians. The Augustine of the Woods is made with two shades of Dupioni Silk, situated at opposing fabric grain patterns. The rich Forest Dupioni Silk has a horizontal grain direction while the bright Rose-Gold Dupioni Silk cross is cut with a vertical fabric grain.
The cross design extends all the way to the stole ends. The Augustine of the Woods is a beautiful reminder of the holy work of theology coupled with the ever-present need for that transcendence to always reach its way to Earth.
The Byzantine Deacon Stole is a gorgeous stole that is also extremely comfortable to wear. It is constructed with a 3.5” wide cross-body loop with an attached tapered stole segment that extends down both the front and back of the body. This stole is essentially two stoles joined together, therefore it is more expensive than the Classic Deacon Stoles. That being said, it is a fantastic value for this stunning stole.
